Script- P1-04

How has your use of digital technology developed over two years and affected the outcome of your two products?
(Morgan Freeman/Barry White accent)
Hello there, the love affair with digital technology started in September 2009 when we started our Long Road journey.  It started with the introduction to the Mac computers and the software available on them.  We found out that there were programs such as Photoshop, iStop Motion, GarageBand and Final Cut Express.  We later found out that we were to use and take advantage of all these programs in our media projects throughout our two years at Long Road.

Firstly we were given the task of making the opening scene to a children's film.   This was our first chance to get the cameras rolling, so the excitement levels were soaring. We started off by using the blogs and websites such as Youtube and Google to plan our openings. We then started to use the video cameras to film our footage, before editing this into our premiere project. To edit this we used Finalcut and garageband to create a soundtrack to go with it. this resulted in a very amateur piece of work that we would look for a chance to improve on in our thriller.

Michael Jackson's thriller was one of the greatest music videos ever, it also had the largest budget for a music video at the time, however this has nothing to do with our presentation. Our thriller projects was the second product we created in the AS year of media. The criteria was similiar to that of the childrens project but to relate it to the thriller genre, whether it be political, action, psychological or a crime.  Our final products came out great in the end with our use of our intense editing skills.

In our A2 project we had the task of making a music video. We looked at other inspirational videos from big name stars, and example of this was Geri Haliwell "Raining Men". We used itunes to assign a music track to each group, we decided to use butch Walker - Too Famous to get fully dressed. We then researched music videos that are part of the same genre and looked for common conventions. We then took these into consideration when we filmed our music video featuring Dom Robinson (or his preferred name Robertson). We then edited this using the same programs but we now knew how to use these to there full potential. we used Motion keys and special transitions to make our video more effective. This also lead to it being a much better video than Rebecca Blacks video for Friday.
