post production questions

Which post production decisions can you tell the group have made?
One decision was to use a clip of Saul watching time go by repeatedly, this is evident as a police car goes by 5 times in about 20 seconds of clip. A second decision is to use the fading affect of the woman fading away, this was done by over lapping two clips.

What impact do these have on the product?
Well my second point is visuals to lyrics, representing him losing his girl friend slowly over time. My first point was also visuals to lyrics as it represents that life is just drifting by so fast which links with the song.

Which post production skills do the group still need to develop?
I think that the group needs to develop their editing skills, the is not many special effects and it makes the video a bit boring.  They could also improve their lip syncing in places.

What do you think they have done more successfully than you did in your work?
I think they edited a large range of scenes together, there are a lot of jump cuts between different locations whereas our lip syncing scenes were only in a few locations. The camera movements and pivots are more stable than ours and so look more professional. They edited together a wider range of scenes than us so the video didn't become boring.

Look at the ancillary tasks, what should they add to improve?

For there final video they did not do any dvd covers or digipacks but we are going to look at the practice ones that they did. There poster is very colourful and i like the pictures that they have included, but they could have done better by saying the age and the fonts could be improved because the title doesnt stand out from the rest of it.
