1) How Have You Been Creative In Your Children's Film?
Our overall storyline for our children's film was good as it consisted of all key features of films that children enjoy, for example A Hero which was Bean and Bell and A Villain which was Dr.Skull. The way we made the storyline creative was through the costumes and editting. Our costumes were different in the way that they were tailored to look like typical hero's with a twist. As we created our children's films in our first year at AS we weren't as skilled with using Final Cut and Garageband as we have excelled to be now. However, we were creative with our editing as we we're able to rewind scenes and apply slow motion. The imagery we used was good enough to attract a young audience however it was still reasonably basic, even though we added different shots. As we have progressed, we have been able to experiment more with camera angles and shots rather than sticking to the typical long shots and close ups. The sound in our chidlren's film was creative because it was made by our group and varied between action, fast pace music and sad, slow pace music depending on the characters on screen. A limitation we found using garageband was that the soundtrack didn't flow very well however we have had the time to improve this when creating our thrillers and music videos.
2) How Have You Been Creative In Your Thriller?
The storyline we agreed on with our thriller was very creative in the way it used metaphors to explain certan features and answers in each scene. We conduced research prior to our filming to ensure we gathered the right information on the main aspect of our thriller which was the sphinx. The information we collected was evidence that the sphinx is a mysterious character therefore we used riddles to explain this behaviour. This helped with our creativity as it allowed us to be more confident in what we put across to the audience. Another thing that improved our confidence is how we made our thriller after our childrens film therefore we were more skilled with using final cut and garageband. Just with our opening we found that the imagery was creative because of, in particularly, the credits. These were different because they were editted to express the feel of the overall thriller. This was also done with the soundtrack following it. We used a lot of city noises and sounds to add effect and emotion.
3)How Have You Been Creative In Your Lip Syncing Task?
Our chosen soundtrack for our lip syncing task was Salt 'N' Pepa - Push It. We found this project a time to be most creative as it was a task where we chose the song, costume and imagery. We got a choice of songs and we chose this one in particular because we both knew the lyrics and enjoyed listening to it. We also thought we could come up with some new ideas on how to portray this genre of music. Our costumes were basic however we were creative in the way we added the hats. This showed how we thought about how to match the on screen footage with the genre of the music, which was hip-hop. We only had one lesson to complete this task therefore we found it difficult to film it to the best of our ability however we felt our over all outcome was pretty good.
4)How Have You Been Creative In Your Music Video?
Our genre for our music video was indie/rock this meant that our visuals on screen needed to be linked with this therefore our story-line, visuals and edits were achieving this. As our soundtrack was a male artist we ensured that the main focus was male. The music video project was the task given to us at A2 level and the task given to us with the longest time. We were able to go out of college to film giving us a variety of locations and costumes (as it was filmed on different days).
Being able to place ourselves in different groups we met different people allowing us to share ideas and contribute each of our skills together. These skills have been explored in previous years and tasks making us more experienced with using final cut and garageband.
